A modern luxurious aesthetic
The apartment is to function as a home away from home for our client, when he is back in the UK visiting family and friends. Being that the entire building had been newly refurbished and redeveloped, many elements of it appealed to our client in terms of functionality and providing a low-maintenance option for him as a second home. Whilst the flooring and finishes generally had been well considered throughout, the apartment lacked personality and warmth, and required decorating throughout and replacing of the carpets to achieve the modern luxurious aesthetic our client was looking for, inspired by his jet set lifestyle.
This project kept our design team busy in 2022 and proved that we are able to work remotely, over Zoom and email, for clients who live abroad. Concepts and layout options were presented in person in a meeting over Christmas, and all communication before, during and after the completion of the project has been undertaken over email and video call.
The furnishing of this apartment is a prime example of our fully comprehensive design FF&E service. Whilst our client lives in Dubai, this didn’t hinder us at all. Throughout the design and installation process, Pfeiffer Design coordinated the entire project on his behalf, liaising with all tradespeople required when it came to installation and being on site to accept, unpacking and installing all necessary deliveries. This project was entirely designed and specified by our designers – right down to bed linen and accessories!
Our brief included the following elements:
Concept & layout options
Wall finishes, including timber paneling, wallpaper and paint
Specification of carpet
Decorative lighting design
Bespoke joinery design
Specification of bespoke and off-the-peg upholstery and furniture
Accessories, artwork, mirrors & bed linen specification and procurement
Bespoke upholstery and soft furnishings formed a key part of our design remit. We designed and made soft wave-headed linen curtains and Roman blinds, a contemporary fluted timber headboard wall in the Principal Bedroom, and a bespoke panelled headboard, incorporating switches and sockets to sit behind the bed in the Secondary Bedroom. And, of course, the scheme was completed by an abundance of neutral, textural scatter cushions, designed and handmade by our seamstress, Henny, in our workshop in Eastbourne.
