Decorex

Earlier this month, the Pfeiffer Design team headed to Decorex at London Olympia for an exciting day of inspiration and a chance to meet some new and existing suppliers. The ordinarily annual exhibition is one of the most exciting trade events in our calendar and typically spans lighting, furniture, textiles and accessories. Being that Decorex 2020 was online only, 2021’s in person trade show definitely didn’t disappoint!

This year, we definitely noticed a shift towards more a more neutral colour palette, and away from the jewel-toned greens and blues we’ve been seeing over the last couple of years. A warm embrace of earthy neutrals, sage greens and terracottas concur up a feeling of calm serenity inspired by mother nature. Organic patterns and textures, with brushed and patinated brass accents, reigned supreme; filtering through from everything to rugs and textiles, to furniture, lighting and accessories. Traditional weaves and prints put in appearance too, along with a move towards warmer timber tones, such as walnut and Douglas fir, and a move away from both the stripped back minimalism and bold OTT maximalism we’ve seen in the design world for a few years.

Our designers really embraced the opportunity to meet new suppliers face to face, network with others in the industry, and touch base with some of our fabulous existing suppliers, such as J.Adams & Co, Linwood Fabrics, Bert & May, Little Greene, & A Rum Fellow – watch this space for new and exciting things to come. Reconnecting with our suppliers in person has really inspired us and we are so excited to specify some of the fabulous new products our suppliers have created in our upcoming projects.
